COVID-19 Pandemisi Sürecinde Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi Lisans Öğrencilerinin Korku ve Anksiyete Düzeylerinin Değerlendirilmesi

GİRİŞ ve AMAÇ: Salgınların insanlar üzerinde oluşturduğu psikolojik tahribatın değerlendirilmesi fiziksel etkilerin incelenmesi kadar önemlidir. Bu çalışma COVID-19 pandemisi sürecinde diş hekimliği fakültesinde eğitim- öğretim gören lisans öğrencilerinin korku ve anksiyete düzeylerinin değerlendirilmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır.
YÖNTEM ve GEREÇLER: Anket, “Google drive” uygulaması üzerinden oluşturan link bağlantısının iki ayrı bölge ve fakültede lisans eğitimi gören öğrencilere iletilmesi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir.
BULGULAR: Katılımcıların korku düzeyleri cinsiyetlerine göre değerlendirildiğinde; kız öğrencilerin erkek öğrencilere göre pandemi sürecinde daha çok korku yaşadığı, korona virüsü düşündüğünde rahatsız olduğu, ellerinin terlediği, korona virüsten dolayı hayatını kaybetmekten korktuğu, sosyal medyada korona virüs ile ilgili haberleri ve hikâyeleri izlerken gerildiği ve endişe duyduğu, kalp atışının hızlandığı ve çarpıntısının olduğu belirlenmiştir. Kız öğrencilerin anksiyete düzeylerinin erkeklerden istatistiksel olarak anlamlı şekilde fazla olduğu saptanmıştır.
TARTIŞMA ve SONUÇ: COVID-19 pandemisi, sadece fiziksel sağlığı değil ruhsal sağlığı da etkilemekte olup lisans öğrencilerinin korku ve anksiyete seviyelerini arttırmaktadır.
Evaluation of Fear and Anxiety Levels of Dentist Faculty Undergraduate Students During the COVID-19 Pandemic Process

INTRODUCTION: Evaluating the psychological damage caused by epidemics on people is as important as examining the physical effects. This study was conducted to evaluate the fear and anxiety levels of undergraduate students studying at the faculty of dentistry during the COVID-19 pandemic.
METHODS: The survey was carried out by sending the link created through the "Google drive" application to undergraduate students in two different regions and faculties.
RESULTS: When the fear levels of the participants were evaluated according to their gender; It has been determined that female students experience more fear during the pandemic process than male students, feel uncomfortable when they think about the corona virus, sweaty hands, afraid of losing their life due to the corona virus, feel tense and worried while watching the news and stories about the corona virus on social media, their heart rate accelerates and they have palpitations.. It was determined that the anxiety levels of female students were statistically significantly higher than males.
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: The COVID-19 pandemic affects not only physical health but also mental health and increases the fear and anxiety levels of undergraduate students.
