COVID -19 Pandemisinde “Eski normal” ve “Yeni normal” kavramlarýnýn diþ hekimliði pratiðindeki farklýlýklarý: Web tabanlý bir anket çalýþmasý

GÝRÝÞ ve AMAÇ: Tüm dünyayý etkisi altýna alan COVID-19 salgýnýndan en fazla etkilenen mesleklerden biri olan diþ hekimlerinin kritik duruma göre artan önlemler almasý gerekmiþtir. Bu çalýþmanýn amacý, COVID-19 (Koronavirüs Hastalýðý 2019) pandemisinde aþýlarýn uygulanmaya baþlamasýndan sonra gündeme gelen “eski normal” ve “yeni normal” kavramlarý hakkýnda bir farkýndalýk oluþturmak ve diþ hekimlerinin bu süreçteki kaygý düzeylerini analiz etmektir.
YÖNTEM ve GEREÇLER: Anket, “Google drive” uygulamasý üzerinden oluþturan link baðlantýsýnýn hekimlere iletilmesi ile gerçekleþtirilmiþtir.
BULGULAR: Diþ hekimlerinin normalleþme sürecinde koruyucu ekipman kullanma rutini deðerlendirildiðinde; yarýya yakýnýnýn (%41,7) tedavilerinde N95/FFP3 gibi filtre korumalý maske kullanýmýna devam ettiði, koruyucu yüz siperliði ve gözlük kullananlarýn oranýnýn ise benzer (%58,3) olduðu görülmüþtür. Tedavileri sýrasýnda koruyucu özel kýyafet kullanýmýna devam eden hekimlerin oranýnýn daha fazla (%64,1) olduðu belirlenmiþtir. Kadýnlarýn kaygý düzeylerinin anlamlý bir þekilde (p=0,041) erkeklerden fazla olduðu, aþýlanma sonrasý her iki cinsiyette de kaygý düzeyinin azaldýðý (p=0,020) saptanmýþtýr.
TARTIÞMA ve SONUÇ: Çalýþma sonuçlarý deðerlendirildiðinde, normalleþme döneminde alýnan koruyucu tedbirlerin olmasý gereken düzeyden düþük seviyede olduðu görülmüþtür. Aþýlama sonrasý toplumsal algýnýn salgýnýn sona erdiði düþüncesine yaklaþtýðý belirlenmiþtir. Pandeminin halen devam ettiði unutulmamalý, önlemler gevþetilmeyip gereken düzeyde tutulmalýdýr.

Differences between the concepts of "Old normal" and "New normal" in the practice of dentistry in the COVID-19 pandemic: A web-based survey study

INTRODUCTION: Dentists, one of the professions most affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, which affected the whole world, had to take increasing measures according to the critical situation. The aim of this study is to raise awareness about the concepts of "old normal" and "new normal", which came to the fore after the introduction of vaccines in the COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019) pandemic, and to analyze the anxiety levels of dentists in this process.
METHODS: The survey was conducted by sending the link created through the "Google drive" application to the physicians.
RESULTS: When the routine of using protective equipment in the normalization process of dentists is evaluated; It was observed that nearly half of them (41,7%) continued to use filter-protected masks such as N95/FFP3 in their treatments, and the rate of those who used protective face shields and glasses was similar (58,3%). It was determined that the rate of physicians who continued to use protective special clothing during their treatment was higher (64,1%). It was determined that the anxiety levels of women were significantly higher than men (p=0,041), and the anxiety level of both genders decreased after vaccination (p=0,020).
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: When the results of the study were evaluated, it was seen that the protective measures taken during the normalization period were at a lower level than they should have been. It has been determined that the social perception after vaccination is close to the idea that the epidemic is over. It should not be forgotten that the pandemic still continues, the measures should not be relaxed and should be kept at the required level.
