Üst ön dişlerin estetik oran ve boyutlarının dijital analizi: Türk örnekleminde bir çalışma

GİRİŞ ve AMAÇ: Bu çalışmanın amacı üst anterior dişlerin genişlik, uzunluk ve görünür kontakt boyutunun (GKB), üst santral kesicilerin genişlik-uzunluk (G: U) oranının ve sağ ve sol bölgelerde dental simetrinin olup olmadığının değerlendirilmesidir.
YÖNTEM ve GEREÇLER: 21 ve 22 yaşlarında 27 Türk diş hekimliği öğrencisinin üst çene dijital ölçüsü, ağız içi tarayıcı kullanılarak alınmıştır. Üst anterior dişlerin genişlik, uzunluk ve kontakt boyutları 3-boyutlu analiz yazılımı ile ölçülmüştür. Veriler, 50: 40: 30 kuralı ile GKB oranı ve santral kesiciler için %80 G: U oranı gibi estetik parametreler ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Bununla birlikte her iki cinsiyet için sağ ve sol diş boyutları da karşılaştırılmıştır. Elde edilen ölçümler ile belirlenen estetik parametreleri karşılaştırmak için Wilcoxon tek örnek işaretli sıralar testi ve tek-örneklem t-testi kullanılmıştır. Sağ ve sol anterior dişlerin genişlik ve uzunlukları ise 2-örneklem t-testi kullanılarak karşılaştırılmıştır.
BULGULAR: Santral kesicilerin G: U oranı, optimal estetik oran olarak kabul edilen %80 ile uyumlu olmayıp istatistiksel olarak farklılık göstermiştir (p<0,001). Sağ ve sol taraftaki GKB oranları birbirinden farklılık göstermemiş (45: 34: 21 ve 45: 33: 21) fakat bu oranlar 50: 40: 30 kuralına uymamıştır (p≤0,001). Üst anterior dişlerin genişlik ve uzunluk boyutları her iki cinsiyette de sağ ve sol tarafta birbirine benzer bulunmuştur (p>0.05).
TARTIŞMA ve SONUÇ: Çalışılan Türk popülasyonunda G: U ve GKB oranları, belirlenen estetik parametre oranlarından farklı bulunmuştur. Kontralateral dişler arasında simetrinin olması klinik pratikte üst anterior dişleri restore ederken klinisyene yardımcı olabilir.
Digital analysis of esthetic proportions and dimensions of maxillary anterior teeth: A study in a Turkish sample

INTRODUCTION: The aim of the present study was to evaluate width(W), length(L), and apparent contact dimension(ACD) of maxillary anterior teeth and width to length ratio(W/L) the maxillary central incisors, and whether there was dental symmetry of left and right sides.
METHODS: Digital impressions of 27 Turkish dental students aged 21 and 22 years, who met the inclusion criteria, were taken using an intraoral scanner. The W, L, contact dimension of maxillary anterior teeth were measured with three-dimension analyzing software. The data were compared with current esthetic parameters such as ratio of ACD with 50: 40: 30 rule, and 80% W/L for central incisor. Moreover, the right and left teeth dimensions were compared for both genders. The one-sample Wilcoxon signed rank test and one-sample t-test were used to compare the differences between the obtained measurements and determined esthetic parameters. The W and L of right and left anterior teeth were compared using 2-sample t-test.
RESULTS: The W/L of central incisors(%88) were not concordant with the 80% ratio accepted as the optimal esthetic ratio and the differences were statistically difference( p<0.001). The ratio of ACD on the right and left sides were not different(45: 34: 21 and 45: 33: 21), however the ratios did not fit the 50: 40: 30 rule(p≤0.001). The W and L dimensions of maxillary anterior teeth were similar on the right and left sides for both genders(p>0.05).
DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: In the Turkish population studied, W/L-and ADC-ratio were different from determined esthetic parameter ratio. The symmetry between contralateral teeth may be helpful during restoration of maxillary anterior teeth in clinical practice.
