Aþýrý harabiyet gösteren endodontik tedavili diþlerin protetik restorasyonlarý

Endodontik tedavi; çürük, kýrýk veya periodontal hastalýktan belirgin olarak etkilenen diþlerde, kök çevresi saðlýðýnýn sürdürülmesi için kök kanalýndan canlý bakteri ve toksinlerin uzaklaþtýrýlmasý amacýyla uygulanmaktadýr. Endodontik tedavili diþin uzun dönem baþarýsý sadece kök kanal tedavisine deðil, ayný zamanda post-endodontik restorasyonun kalitesine baðlýdýr. Geçmiþte, yapýsal olarak zayýflamýþ endodontik tedavili diþin post-endodontik restorasyonu çok sert materyallerle gerçekleþtirilmekteydi. Son günlerde, dentini yakýn bir þekilde taklit eden materyaller tercih edilmektedir. Bu diþlerin restorasyonu, restoratif materyalin tutuculuk ve direnci, kalan diþ dokusunun okluzal kuvvetlere direnci, uygun koronal ve kök içi týkama ve ayný zamanda estetik gibi gereksinimleri saðlayabilmelidir. Bu derlemede, aþýrý harabiyete uðrayan endoodontik tedavili diþlerin protetik restorasyonlarý ve bu alandaki güncel geliþmeler irdelenmiþtir.

Prosthetic restorations of severely damaged endodontically-treated teeth

Endodontic therapy is performed on teeth significantly affected by caries, fracture or periodontal disease, for eliminating viable bacteria and toxins from the root canal to sustain periradicular health. The long-term success of endodontically treated teeth depends not only on root canal therapy itself as well as the quality of the post-endodontic restoration. In the past, the post-endodontic restoration of endodontically treated teeth that is structurally weakened was performed with very rigid materials. Nowadays, the materials that simulate dentin closely are mostly preferred. Restoration of these teeth needs to fulfill the necessities such as retention and resistance of the restorative material, the resistance of the remaining dental tissue to occlusal forces, proper coronal and intraradicular obturation and also aesthetic. In this review, prosthetic restorations of severely damaged endodontically-treated teeth and the current innovations in this field have been clarified.
